Working in the Eagle View will help you gain experience in interviewing, writing, layout and design. It will also help you experience collaboration with others, communicating clearly and effectively. The newspaper allows creativity and an experience to sharpen your skills at school and work. A great way to see what a person working at the newspaper is like!

Meet campus leaders and administrators, professionals, and community leaders! Interviewing people on a news story or on a graphic can help you meet people that can help you gaining recognition and connections.

Time management is something many college students struggle with, however, working on a paper may help. Since you’ll have regular deadlines that aren’t negotiable, you’ll learn how to properly manage your time to get everything done quickly and efficiently.

Writing is a skill that takes time to grow and develop. If you’d like to enhance your writing skills, spending time on the school newspaper will provide plenty of opportunities to do so. You’ll also have chances to work on research, and can dip into editing, which will help you turn a more critical eye on your own writing.

When you join the Eagle View, you’re going to be counted upon to turn in assignments on a regular basis. Therefore, you’ll learn how to work under pressure, turn in an assignment on time, and take criticism of your work from your peers. Ultimately, this will prepare you for handling a fast-pace work environment after leaving school.
